Gambia's Pres-Elect, Adama Barrow Speaks Over Jammeh's 'Strong Head' To Leave Office
The situation in The Gambia gets intense on a daily basis over the reluctance of the sitting President, Yahya Jammeh to exit office after he lost to Adama Barrow. The President-elect, Adama Barrow has in a tweet-statement lashed out to the Gambian dictator on his refusal to accept defeat.
Barrow, in a tweet dated January 11 on his profile (@adama_barrow) said:
'It is neither in line with law nor common sense for a loser to have the right to abrogate the right of the victor. #GambiaHasDecided #Gambia ''
Adama Barrow, has however callled on the incumbent, Yahya Jammeh, to engage in direct talks to resolve the country's political crisis.
He made the call in a BBC Newsday interview, one week ahead of his inauguration ceremony.
