Boy Hacks 86-year-old Father To Death in Ondo

An undergraduate, identified as Olusoji Thompson has been arrested by the Ondo State Police Command for allegedly killing his 86-year-old father, High Chief Clifford Olumekun with an axe.
The suspect allegedly carried out the dastardly act at the deceased’s residence at No 1, Okeraye Street, Idepe in Okitipupa Local Government Area of Ondo State.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Femi Joseph who disclosed the incident told Daily Post on Friday that the suspect has been detained at the State Criminal Investigative Department of the command for further investigation.
He said the reason the suspect’s action is yet unknown at the time of this report but insisted that he (suspect) was still under interrogation.
He said, ” The incident happened on January 2, 2017 and we have arrested the suspect. We are still interrogating him to know why he carried out such an act.”
He stated further that after the police’s investigation, the suspect would be charged to court.
A source narrated that immediately after killing his father, the suspect allegedly parked the deceased’s lifeless body, wrapped it in a cloth and cleaned the blood stains in the room so as not to give room for suspicion that he (deceased) was murdered.
He (the suspect) was alleged to have fled the town immediately after committing the crime.
The source said, ” When the family members got into the room, they noticed some blood stains that were carelessly cleaned.
“They also found out that blood stains that were supposed to be on the deceased’s body had been carefully cleaned and his corpse was wrapped in a big cloth as if he died naturally..”
The source added that the family immediately consulted the oracle to expose the killer but the suspect who had allegedly fled the town earlier, showed up and confessed to the crime. He was later handed over to the police.
